The module aims to:
To develop students' ability in personal development; setting, action planning and evidencing personal, academic and employment related goals.
enhance students' employability
The module aims to embrace an eclectic approach by use of group work, lectures, seminars, directed and self-directed study, student presentation, and reflective practice and ICT workshops. Guest speakers will be invited in from a range of professional backgrounds to help students explore potential career options and to gain knowledge of the skills set that employers expect and require. Formative assessment will be a major feature of the workshops whereby students will supported, guided and offered feedback on their on-going self reflection, skills development, action plan and portfolio building.
Analyse a range of potential career pathways and relate own aptitudes and skills to these options.
Outline and analyse personal and professional targets, and produce an action plan to support progress towards these targets.
Explore employment related skills and map these to personal development
